Year 6 Week 3

Miss Line - 24 Sep 2021

English

This week in English we have started looking at descriptive writing. We have been identifying and using expanded noun phrases and have been looking at how to use present progressive and present perfect tense. Next week we will be continuing our work on character and setting descriptions.

Maths

For Maths we have continued revising addition and subtraction and have used inverse operations to check our calculations. We have also started recapping multiplication by 1 digit. Next week we will be multiplying by 2 digits and looking at division.

Science

In Science this week we have been creating series and parallel circuits and have been looking at the scientific symbols required to draw circuits accurately. Next week we will be looking at voltage and resistance.

History

We have continued our Victorians topic this week by looking at the differences between rich and poor people during the Victorian era. Next week we will be looking at crime and punishment in Victorian times!
