Miss Bates - 08 Dec 2023

Well done year 6 for a brilliant week!

We have had our SATs practise this week to ensure we are on track and to find any holes in our learning (that we have already covered). I am extremely proud of how hard they have been working and the improvement they have made.

In between this SATs practise, we have begun planning and writing our first draft of a newspaper report about an event in the Arctic. With this, we held interviews with each other and had a chance to ‘hotseat’ in order to get into the role of the character.

In maths next week, we will be looking at ratios and we will continue with this topic into the new year. As we have finished our measurement topic, I will upload the consolidation pack to then end of this post.

In DT this week, we begun looking at bridges and the different forms these can take. We put our knowledge to the test by conducting an experiment over how to make bridges more stable when using paper.

We have had a very busy week this week and this will be the same next week as we lead up to Christmas. A reminder that our Christmas Carol Concert will take place on Friday 15th and Monday 18th, the children have been working hard on their song and are looking forward to performing it! As always, please read and play on TTRS for a minimum of 5 minutes, 5 times a week. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will see you on Monday!
