Autumn 1 Week 4

Miss Stevens - 27 Sep 2024

English
This week in English, the children have been coming to the end of their unit about Neil Armstrong. They have been writing a diary using adjectives and thinking about Neil's thoughts and feelings.

Maths
This week the children have been practising their step counting. They started the week by practising counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and finished the week by learning to count in steps of 3! This is a really simple way you can support your child at home too, by counting in these steps with them.  Paint the squares is an interactive hundred square, where you can 'hide' multiples of 2s, 5s 10s and 3s so you can support them in their understanding.

Topic
This week in Science the children explored basic needs of animals, by choosing their own pet and describing how they would care for their needs. In history, the children learned about Christopher Columbus and why he is significant in history.

Please remember that we are collecting tins and opened packets of food in class for the local food banks, as part of Harvest Festival. We will be accepting donations over the next 2 weeks. Thank you for your support and generosity.
