Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools so that they can support their disadvantaged pupils.  All students identified as being in the Pupil Premium cohort will benefit from additional academic support and encouragement to ensure that they have a positive and successful learning experience. We aim to close any gap in attainment and achievement between them and their non-Pupil Premium peers. This money is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM).

Brady Primary School and Nursery receives Pupil Premium funding from the government for each child who is entitled, or who has been entitled in the last six years to receive Free School Meals (FSM) and for any Looked After Children (LAC). Pupil Premium funding also extends to children of service personal.
Nationally, statistics show that students who receive FSM do not achieve the same level of academic success as their peers. The aim of this money is to reduce the attainment gap between these groups.

  • To ensure teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all pupils regardless of background.
  • Appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups; this includes socially disadvantage pupils.
  • We reserve the right to allocate Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil who has legitimately been identified as being disadvantage or at risk of being unable to access learning effectively.
  • Pupil Premium funding will be allocated on a needs basis, linked to analysis of outcomes for pupils. Limited funding and resources may mean that not all children who receive FSM will be in receipt of Pupils Premium intervention at any one time.

The range of provision that may be used by Brady Primary school includes:
  • Additional teaching assistants
  • Early intervention schemes
  • Enrichment programmes
  • Extra financial support for providing: coats in winter, sports clothing, uniform.
  • Subsidised school visits
  • PSHE and British values work
  • Lego Therapy
  • Pastoral support
  • One-to-one support (Precision teaching)
  • Phonics (RWI )
  • Parental involvement (Parent readers, volunteers)
  • Sports participation
  • After school programmes

If your child does not have Free School Meals but may be eligible because of your family’s income level, please contact the school office (in confidence) to register them. Even if you do not wish for them to have the meals, this would mean the school could still claim Pupil Premium funding that may be used to support your child.

Wednesday 24th July - last day of term. Children leave at 1:15pm

Please note, voicemail, emails and post are not monitored over holiday periods.

Children will return to school in September on Tuesday 3rd.
