Curriculum Vision Statement

Our creative, thematic based curriculum inspires and engages our children. It offers first hand, real life experiences alongside investigative learning, aimed to build up children’s resilience and prepare them for the world they will move into. This is all underpinned by our four ‘Core Values’ Dedication, Inspiration, Respect and Achievement, these core values are at the heart of everything we do as a school.

The curriculum gives the children the chance to increase their knowledge and understanding of our local environment and the world as a whole. Our hope is to build children who are inspired to learn and continue learning throughout their lives.

At Brady our diverse curriculum helps children to enjoy their learning, form friendships and become responsible and respectful people.

Below is a summary of what each Year Group will be learning about during each half-term. You will find information about their topic, the books they will be reading, the memorable experience this will involve and how this links to their Science topic.

Science is a key focus in our school and we place a high priority on children's investigative skills and experiences. We place experimentation and discovery at the top of our priorities for Science.

Promoting Fundamental British Values.

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain.

Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

•    democracy
•    rule of law
•    individual liberty
•    mutual respect
•    tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
