Welcome to Year 6!

Miss Line - 10 Sep 2021

Welcome to Year 6!

Maths
This week in Maths we have been revising our understanding of place value. We have looked at numbers to ten million and have been ordering and comparing numbers with up to 6 digits.

English
In English we have started looking at our first genre of writing – diary entries. We have identified the features of diary entries and have looked at different ways to start our sentences when writing. Next week we will be putting our ideas together to create a diary entry based on our new text “Street Child”.

History
Our first topic this year is The Victorians and we have started by placing the main events of the Victorian era onto a timeline. We have looked at key dates and information such as the coronation and death of Queen Victoria. Next week we will be looking at the life of Queen Victoria.
