Miss Bates - 17 Feb 2024

Well done year 6 for not only a fantastic week, but a fantastic half term!

In maths, we have started our new topic of fractions, decimals and percentages. We have focused on finding fraction and decimal equivalents as well as turning fractions into divisions to make decimals. When we come back from half term, we will focus on find percentages.

In English, we have finished our narrative, looking at including inverted commas in our writing to advance the action.
In history, we looked at the end of WW1, focusing on the causes and consequences. We talked about how the ending of this impacted that start of WW2 (which will be our topic next half term).

The children were sent home with a homework pack for half term. There are three comprehension papers to complete, a maths reasoning booklet and a fraction to decimals sheet. It would be great for some of this to be completed. We have not covered all of the content in the maths reasoning booklet yet, however we have covered all the way up to ratio and proportion. I will attach PDF copies of the homework pack with answers.

I hope you all have a wonderful half term!
