Miss Bates - 28 Apr 2023

Another brilliant week year 6!

Well done for all the hard work you have been doing, it's been lovely to see how you can all apply your understanding to new content we have been learning.

We have been brushing up on our grammar knowledge, reminding ourselves of how to find the verb/ subject/ object of a sentence and the placement of our punctuation. We have also been looking at some unseen spelling words and applying the rules we know to these words.

In comprehension, we have continued looking at question types and the response we should give based on the question. We have also been looking at how to find evidence from the text that fits the point we want to make.

In maths we have continued with our learning of statistics - looking at pie charts and applying our knowledge of fractions, percentages and angles. We have also spent time looking at reasoning questions and how we might go about answering them.

This week, 6B were very happy to take possession of the 'attendance' trophy and as the whole class was in again today, we decided to capture this memory with a class picture.

New spellings have gone home today along with some angles homework (no protractor is required for this). This will be the last set of homework going home as this coming week is our last before SATs begin. The children have all been working so hard and we just need to continue with a final push before we begin on Tuesday 9th May.

As always, please read and use TTRS 5 times a week, as well as learning your new spellings and completing your homework for Friday. If you wish to do more work over the bank holiday/ coming week, please feel free to visit the SATs homework tab under our class name.

Reminders:
The Kings Coronation lunch will be held on this coming Friday (5th). All parents/ careers are welcome to come in and eat with their child, however we are kindly asking for year 6 to stay behind after the lunch for last minute revision before their SATs as this Friday will lead into a 3 day weekend.
Thank you all for bringing back the letters about sizing for the children's leavers hoodie. Now that the order has been confirmed, a price will be finalised and a new letter will be sent home about this, sufficient time will be given in order to pay for this.
