Year 6 Week 7
Miss Line - 13 Dec 2018
Maths
In Maths this week we have been revising the different concepts covered this term. We looked again at converting fractions to decimals, completing calculations involving fractions, formal written methods of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and rounding.
Next week we will be looking at our most recent assessments and practising any questions we may have found difficult.
Literacy
We have now completed our final biography and have edited and improved our writing to ensure we have used a range of punctuation and conjunctions.
Topic
In Geography, we looked at different parts of the world where animals are at risk of becoming extinct. We used maps and atlases to do this. We then finished off our endangered animal posters.
Library
On Monday, we visited the library and learnt about the Dewey Decimal System. We found lots of books about Darwin and the Galapagos islands and was able to take a book of our choice back to school.
Carols
On Wednesday we walked to Wennington church for our carol concert. We look forward to seeing the parents at our school carol concert tomorrow.
Spellathon
Year 6 had lots of children who made the final of the Spellathon and it was extremely close! However, the joint winners were Samuel and Alisha. Well done to all the children who took the time to learn their spellathon words!
