Dear Parents/ Carers of Year 6,
Year 6 have been offered a fantastic opportunity to meet and work with a published author, Christopher William Hill, at Rainham Library, next Tuesday 24th November 2015. He is a fairly local author, based in Chelmsford. He is the author of the Tales From Schwartzgarten series, which concludes with Marius and the Band of Blood in November.
Christopher’s books have been described as ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ meets Roald Dahl—they’re gleefully gruesome and always go down well with children.
Year 6 will be attending in the morning at 10.30am. They will take part in fun and interesting Literacy based sessions and the author will be doing readings from his new book (the email address below provides more information about the book itself).
Tales from Schwartzgarten: 4: Marius and the Band of Blood will be available to buy on Tuesday for a discounted price of £9.89. If you are interested in your child purchasing a book they will be on sale at the library during your child’s session for £9.89 please provide your child with the correct money in an envelope with their name on and we will ensure that they get their book.
This visit is covered by the “General Consent for Pupil Participation in Regular School Activities” completed on the consent page of your child’s information form. (This is the form you are required to complete when your child first joins Brady).
I know the children will have a great time and I am very much looking forward to finding out everything they get up to.
