Miss Bates - 09 Dec 2022

Well done for a great week year 6!

We have had a very busy week completing all of our assessments but I am so pleased to see you have all taken this in your stride and continued to work hard throughout. It has been wonderful to see the children apply their SPaG, comprehension and maths knowledge to assessment style questions, drawing on all our knowledge from this year as well as previous years.

In geography this week, we have continued to look at our topic of the polar regions but have turned our attention to how Global Warming may be having an impact on this. We have focused our learning on not only the outcome from Global Warming, but also the cause of Global Warming and the impact humans have on this.
In RE, we have looked at prayers from different religions and made comparisons between these. The children have done well to draw on previous weeks knowledge to use as comparisons.

We have had lots of treats this week including our Christmas Dinner which the children really enjoyed. We have also been able to watch the KS1 Nativity performance and have watched a pantomime with the rest of the school!

Just a reminder for this coming week that Friday 16th is ‘Christmas Jumper Day’, which is also when we will be performing our Christmas Carole Concert. The songs the children will be singing are:
‘We wish you a merry Christmas’
‘Merry Christmas everyone’ – Shakin’ Stevens
‘The Christmas alphabet song’ – (video is by Singing Hands)
‘I wish it could be Christmas everyday’ – Wizzard
Any practise at home of these songs would be a great help! As always, the children should be on Timestable Rockstars for 10 minutes a day, 5 times a week. They should also be reading to an adult for 10 minutes a day, 5 times a week (reading record to be signed by an adult).
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and are excited for our last full week of school this term!

Please wait
