Week 5 Summer 1 5S

23 May 2025

Well done for reaching the end of half-term, Year 5!

This week, in Maths, we concluded our unit on position and direction. The class performed well in their end of unit assessment, and have mostly made great progress throughout this unit. This has included reflecting shapes in vertical and horizontal lines, as well as translating shapes too.

In Reading, we have continued reading our class text 'Treason'. The children are still very engaged with this book, and have enjoyed seeing the story unfold and watching the characters develop. This week, we focused on our explanation, retrieval and prediction skills.

For our Science lesson, we recapped what we have learnt throughout our unit 'Animals including humans'. We then undertook our end of unit assessment. The pupils have shown a good understanding of parts of this topic, such as human growth and how the body changes throughout puberty.

Do not forget, we have our Stubbers trip after half term: 4th-6th June!

Have a lovely break.
