Week 7 Autumn 2 5S

Well done for reaching the end of term, Year 5!
This week, in English we completed our Persuasive writing unit. The children completed their first draft, and then did some brilliant edits and improvements working with partners. Then, they completed their final drafts. There were some amazing pieces of writing, with some very interesting topics of focus too. The pupils included a range of modal verbs, emotive language and adverbials.
We also finished our book Hidden Figures. The children have been very engaged with this text, and have enjoyed learning all about the lives of the four amazing women who helped NASA land on the moon for the very first time. They wrote some fantastic book reviews of the text, and it was great to see what they enjoyed learning.
We have had lots of fun this week too! We had done lots of Christmas activties, including our Carol Concerts which the children did a brilliant job of. We also had a visit from someone very special...
