Week 1 Summer 1 5S

25 Apr 2025

Welcome back to a brand new term, Year 5. We have had a fun first week back!

In Maths, we started our new topic on Shape. This has included revising our knowledge of types of angles and then estimating the degrees of acute, obtuse and reflex angles. The children have had a good start to this topic.

We also started our new book 'Treason'. This is based in Tudor times to support our topic 'Off with her head!'. The class have enjoyed the beginning of this book, and have already worked hard on their inference, prediction and vocabulary skills.

We were lucky enough to go to Reception to go and visit their chicks that they have! Most of the children were gentle and calm with the chicks and were very respctful when carrying them.

This week was also our school trip to The Tower of London! We had a brilliant day. Year 5 wre well behaved, and represented Brady Primary School very well. We learnt all about imprisonment in the tower, as well as the different types of torture they used!

Happy weekend.
