Week 6 Spring 2 5S
04 Apr 2025
Well done for finishing another term Year 5- we made it to Easter!
We have had a really fun last week of Spring Term together.
In Music, we continued our unit learning the song Rosewood Gratitude. Our lessons this week focused on using percussion instruments (xylophones), and learning different parts of the song. The pupils used a variety of notes and chords, and played in groups as well as individually.
In Maths, we completed our short unit on Statistics. Generally, the class have done very well in this unit, however some children do struggle to plot and then join points on a line graph still. It is also evident that some children do not practise telling the time at home, as some could not read a timetable. Please ensure that you are referring to a clock every day at home to aid your children's learning.
We had some special visitors from Harris Aca
demy on Wednesday morning. Two Year 11 pupils kindly came into class to teach the children some new language skills, focusing on Russian. It was a brilliant session for the class, and they learnt information such as letters and greetings in Russian.
On Wednesday afternoon, we then took a trip to Harris Academy to watch their dress rehearsal of Grease- the Musical!
We had a brilliant time watching the performance, and the pupils performing were outstanding.
Have an amazing Easter Holidays! Don't forget that the children leave at 1:15pm today and return to school on Tuesday 22nd April.
