Week 6 Autumn 1

11 Oct 2024

Well done for another great week, Year 5.

this week, in Reading we finished reading Beowulf. The children really enjoyed this text and created some brilliant pieces of drama, retelling the story of the Death-Dragon of the Deep. They also were able to answer both retrieval and inference questions about the text too.

In Science, we were investgating different types of machines, including wheels, gears, levers and pulleys. The children then created and planned their own investigation making their own pulleys. It has been a tricky topic looking at forces, but the children have shown interest and resilience in it.

In Maths, we have begun our new unit of Multiplication and Division. We have been exploring factors, multiples and common factors and multiples. The class have done well with applying their times table knowledge to these concepts.

Happy weekend.
