Week 3 Autumn 1 5S

Well done for another great week, Year 5.
This week, in Science, we have been learning all about Forces. The children have been exploring different types of forces, as well as having good discussions about gravity. We conducted an experiment looking at air resistance, where the children created thier own parachutes out of various types of material.
In French, we have been recapping on our phonics/phonetic sounds. It has been interesting to see how much the children had retained form Year 4, and they did evry well pronouncing some trickier sounds/words.
For our Art lessons, we have been continuing to focus on sketching landscapes, as well as creating tinits, tones and shades. We had some amazing pieces of art work produced by the children, and myself and Mrs Agates have been so impressed with their artistic skills.
We also had a very special visitor this week- Paralympian Ellie Challis came to Brady to talk to the children all about her experience in Paris and her gold medal! The children asked some brilliant questions and were in awe of such an incredible athlete.
