Year 5 27.09.23

Miss Line - 27 Sep 2023

English
This week in English we have started looking at our new genre of writing – non-chronological reports. We looked at the features of non-chorological reports and how to use relative clauses and parenthesis within our writing. Next week we will be carrying out research to use in our own non-chronological reports on the Ancient Egyptians.

Maths
For Maths this week, we completed our unit on place value and have started looking at addition and subtraction. We looked at how to use mental methods and column methods for subtraction.

Science
In Science we looked at soluble and insoluble materials. We carried out an experiment to test the solubility of a range of materials.
