Year 5 21.04.23

Miss Line - 20 Apr 2023

Maths
This week in Maths we have started looking at different angles. We have revised how angles are measured and been able to classify them into acute, obtuse and reflex. We have also looked at estimating the size of angles based on our prior knowledge. Next week we will be looking at angles on a straight line and around a point.

English
In English we have been looking at journals from 14th century Britain. We looked at how to vary the length of our sentences to create suspense and how to add detail through description. Next week we will be planning our own journal as a plague doctor.

Geography
As part of our new topic, peasants, princes and pestilence, we have started by looking at a range of maps and atlases at how the Black Death spread across Europe to Britain.
