Year 5 Summer 2 Week 5

English
This week in English we have completed our final drafts of our Tudor newspaper where we reported on the death of Henry VIII. We have also been continuing to read our class text ‘Treason’. From this text, we have used ideas to start our new writing genre – narratives. We have also been writing our speeches for Head Boy / Head Girl.
Maths
In Maths this week we have continued looking at co-ordinates and how these can be used to describe the position of an object on a grid.
Next week we will be completing our end of year assessments in reading, grammar, spelling, arithmetic and reasoning.
Other
As part of RE, we took part in Cultural Day where we looked at belonging and which groups we belong to.
In PSHE we started looking at the physical and emotional changes that will occur as our bodies begin to go through puberty.
