Well done to Year 5 for an excellent first week back.
This week, we have begun our new class text, Treason. The children have made thoughtful predictions about what they believe may happen in the story and we have read the opening chapters together. The children have shown great curiosity and interest in the text.
In English, we have started our biography unit. We have discussed the key features of a biography and explored how to use colons and semicolons correctly. The children have also been focusing on writing in Standard English.
In Mathematics, we have started our new topic on shape. The children have been learning about angles, identifying different types of angles, and have begun using protractors to measure angles accurately.
In History, we have started learning about the Tudors. This week, we explored the Tudor timeline and recreated it as a whole class. The children have already demonstrated an impressive amount of prior knowledge about this period.
Just a reminder that swimming starts on Tuesday, and our Tower of London trip will take place on Thursday.
