Week 6 Spring 5S
13 Feb 2026
Well done, Year 5, for another fantastic week of learning!
In English, we finished the first drafts of our balanced arguments. The children showed excellent editing skills as they reviewed their work, making thoughtful improvements in preparation for their final drafts. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they refine their ideas and develop their writing.
In Maths, we continued our work on fractions and percentages. This week, we focused on converting fractions into decimals and percentages. The children worked hard to deepen their understanding and applied their knowledge with increasing accuracy.
In Geography, we learned about the Peasants’ Revolt. The class particularly enjoyed role‑playing the key events, which helped bring this important moment in history to life and led to some brilliant discussions.
In Science, we concluded our topic on Properties of Materials by making our own glue. The children were thoroughly engaged and fascinated by the process, showing great curiosity and enthusiasm for practical science.
A gentle reminder to please continue reading at least three times a week and to keep practising on TTRS over the half term.
We hope you all have a lovely half term!
