Week 7

17 Oct 2025

Well done for another fantastic week, Year 5!

This week, in Maths, we have continued our unit on multiplication and division. The children have been split into groups again this year, and are doing really well with this change. It is important that children have secure knowledge of their time tables for this unit. Please ensure your child is still using TTRS at least once a week at home, in order to aid their learning.

In History, we learnt all about Cleopatra.  The children became detectives to try and discover the way Cleopatra died!  It is wonderful to see how engaged the children are with our topic!

For Science, we continued our topic on Forces. The past lessons have been looking at water resistance in more detail, as well as measuring force using newton meters.  This week we did an experiment all about which objects float and sink!

Today we are taking part in a Diwali art afternoon.  In Year 5, we are going to be making door wreaths.  The children are really looking forward to it.

Happy weekend.

Please do not forget that your children should be reading 5 times a week at home.
