Miss Burgess Update 01/07/22

01 Jul 2022

 Happy Friday! 😊

This week in Nursery has involved a lot of PE. The children loved their Sports Day and today we had another PE lesson where we did some dance and played some hockey. In our dance part of our lesson we looked at the actions to a popular song; The Cha Cha Slide! We used this video to help us learn the moves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1gMUbEAUFw

We have introduced solving take away style problems in class and have been using the symbol (-) in simple calculations. Sharing equally has also been a big focus during our maths lessons and in our day to day playing.

Finally, this week, we have been making sandwiches. We love the story Sam’s Sandwich by David Pelham and decided it would be a great idea to make our own. The children were able to follow instructions and enjoyed tasting the sandwich after. We focused on using sequencing vocabulary such as; first, next and last and got the children to sequence pictures in the correct order after they had made their own sandwich.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Miss Burgess 😊
