Autumn 2 Week 4

Mrs Divall - 28 Nov 2024

This week we have been having lots of fun reading Dear Santa!  We like lifting the flaps in the book to see the present behind.  We have also been reading Stick Man.  We love the part where Santa bounces into the room!

We have been practising counting festive objects.  You can practise counting one thing at a time, carefully, with your child at home.  We have also been beginning to teach name writing to the children who are showing an interest in writing their names.  You can support this at home if you would like to.

I was very proud of our nursery children on Wednesday morning.  Lots of prospective parents had a tour of Brady and the nursery children were incredibly friendly towards our guests.

Thank you so much to all the parents who have contributed towards the Hamper prizes and also to the parents who donated Chrostmas decoroations to jazz up nursery.  It's very appreciated.

There is alot of fun to squeeze into the last few weeks of term.

Our nativity performance happens twice.  Two tickets only per family.  This means you can have two adults on one day and zero adults on the next OR you can do one adult on one day and one adult on the next day.  Mr Nunn will send a letter with more details as this is not organised by the classteachers.

Please try to avoid bringing younger siblings, please remove them from the hall if they are making noise so that we do not disturb the performance.  Younger siblings must stay with parents and not be allowed to roam around the hall during the performance.

The first performance is on 10/12/24 at 9.30am (morning children and full timers)
The second performance is on 11/12/24 at 2pm (afternoon children and full timers)

On the performance days your child should wear non uniform, preferably of a festive/wintery theme.  They must wear sensible shoes or trainers and should still be able to use the toilet easily (i.e. no onesies).  This means full timers will need to wear their performance outfit two days in a row because the full timers do the performance twice.

On 13/12/24 it is Christmas Jumper day.  Your child is invited to wear a Christmas jumper.

On 16/12/24 it is Christmas Dinner day for the full timers.  You select the meal via parent pay or speak to Christina to book.  Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets because FOB will be drawing the raffle this day too!

On 17/12/24 FOB have spoken to Santa and organised for him to fly in for a quick visit here at Brady.

On 18/12/24 We will be having a morning and afternoon Christmas party.  Your child can bring two snacks.  So morning/afternoon children will need two snacks for their parties.  Full time children can bring a couple of snacks for the morning and the afternoon party if you so wish. Please label your child’s snack in a separate sandwich bag and do not put it in their lunchbox as it will be confusing for them and for us.  Children cannot share snacks and snack must not contain nuts or present choking hazards.

We are happy to add a temporary tattoo for the party as part of the fun.  If you agree for your child to have a temporary tattoo we will ask you to sign a form nearer the time.

On 20/12/24 Nursery is CLOSED from 12 noon (NO LUNCH, NO AFTERNOON ) and will reopen on 06/01/24 at 9am.
