Miss Burgess Update 25/02

25 Feb 2022

Welcome Back 😊

What a wonderful week it has been!

The children really enjoyed our animal day and loved sharing their outfits with the class. Enjoy looking over the pictures below as they are wonderful. The Nursery Team would also like to say a big thank you for your donations.

We have started work on our new topic, ‘Life Cycles’ by reading the story The Hungry Caterpillar. We have been discussing how he starts as an egg then becomes a little caterpillar, big caterpillar, cocoon and then beautiful butterfly! We used this story to help us with our counting and ordering of numbers 1-5 and even used it to rehearse our days of the week.

This week we have been revisiting alliteration in class as well as introducing a new single sound. We have looked at the sound ‘t’ this week in Nursery and have started trying to writing it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmlzzMTqBxo
For writing we use the phrase; down the tower and over the tower.

Reminder: Next Thursday 3rd March is World Book Day.  Your child is invited to dress up as their favourite character from a book.  This costume can be as simple or complicated as they would be comfortable in!  They could also bring in a copy of this book if it is clearly labelled! Please also make sure this outfit is easily adjusted so the children can still access the toilets without accidents.
