Miss Burgess Update 8/10

08 Oct 2021

This week has been so much fun in Nursery! Our focus text has been… We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! We have enjoyed pretending to be bears and have loved retelling the story and creating some actions to help us remember the words.

Across the week, we have spoken about safe and unsafe choices. We looked at many different picture prompts and discussed as a class what we thought was happening and whether it was a sensible thing to do.

We have enjoyed sharing and learning some new songs this week.
This one is one of our favourites to help us remember our counting to 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3L5Tk8_74c
Drawing has been a main focus for us also this week, we have drawn picture of our families and used non-fiction books to draw pictures of real life bears.

Reminders:
Many children received their reading records this week, if your child didn’t please remind me and they will get this on their next session. 😊
Your child's reading book will be changed one time each week. Please share this book, or another you have at home at least three times per week and record this into the reading record.
When bringing books home it is important to talk about the pictures and ask some questions. Every time you read with your child please record it in their reading record. As every entry brings your child a step closer to winning a prize, (see inside of reading record).
Please ensure your child has their reading record and book in their bag every session they attend so these can be changed when the opportunity arises. Finally, please take great care of our school books when they are at your home. :)

Homework: I have loved seeing your homework so far! If you have anything at home please bring it in for the children to show.
Monday 11th October- Non-Uniform day, please check email inbox for more information.

Enjoy the pictures below and have a lovely weekend.
