Miss Burgess Update 15/10

15 Oct 2021

This week in Nursery we have looked at the story of The Ugly Duckling. This tied in nicely with our work for Mental Health Day as we spent time talking about the emotions happy, sad and angry. In class, we sorted images and spoke about when we felt these emotions. We also talked about what makes a good friend and how we can help our friends.

We have also spent some time completing some finger painting of the Ugly Duckling and our song this week was 5 Little Ducks. This is our favourite online version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZw9veQ76fo

As a class we have been working really hard on our lining up skills and walking sensibly from one area to another. The children have blown us away with how great they are at lining up!
Pretend play has also been a big part of our free play time, the children have all really embraced playing ‘teachers’ and accessing our costume area to make their pretend play come to life. We have  been working on counting ducks up to 5 and ordering these amounts. Next week, we will be looking at popular Nursery Rhymes and learning all about those.

Enjoy the pictures below and have a fantastic weekend 😊

Reminders:
  • Please ensure that library books are coming in during every session so I can do my best to ensure these are changed weekly.
  • The only jewellery that is allowed to be worn, for health and safety reasons, is small studs.
