Miss Burgess Update 25/03
25 Mar 2022
This week in Nursery, we have listened to a story called; ‘A seed in need.’ We have already planted some seeds this half term and using this story helped us to understand what our plant needs to grow.
For maths this week, we have revisited repeating patterns. Some of us have started to spot mistakes in these patterns and correct them. With all of the children, we have been practising 1:1 correspondence (One to One Correspondence is the counting and quantity principle referring to the understanding that each object in a group can be counted once and only once), or careful counting as we explain it to the children.
We have also made a fruit salad this week! We thought back to the Hungry Caterpillar and discussed healthy and not healthy foods- we all agreed that fruits were healthy and so we had our own fruit salad. The children enjoyed helping prepare this and trying out some new fruits.
Finally, the children have learned some sign language this week. Each day the children have learned how to sign the days of the week! They have been excited each day to learn this and have been sharing it during their free-flow play time. Here are the videos we have been using to support us:
