Year 5 Spring Term - Week 9

10 Mar 2022

Half way through the half-term already!

We are currently organising a local visit to an allotment to assist with our topic. Permission slips are not required for this visit, but I will be in touch to let you know which day this will be on so we can make preparations for weather. This will be a short walk.

Maths
We have started our new block focusing on decimals. This week we've focused on understanding decimal places and turning decimals into fractions.

English Writing
This week we've been taking notes about allotments for our next writing assessment focusing on non-chronological reports. We have used information packs, textbooks and internet research to find information to write an engaging and factual report.

English Reading
We've had a mixure of activitied this week while we have had our reading levels assessed.
  • Writing a biography about William Shakespeare.
  • Completing written reading comprehensions about wolves.
  • Reading 1:1 with an adult
PSHE
This week's unit focused on enterprise, a money-inspired unit that helped us think about business. It's never too early to develop those million-making ideas!
