Year 5 Week 4

Another good week in Year 5!

English Writing

We've started writing our fact files this week and have looked at logical ways to edit our writing so that we don't get confused when looking back at our notes. Our final drafts (our assessed piece) will be written next week. We will then start work on our next unit, focused on narratives.

English Reading.

We practised our inference skills by looking at a previously unseen image. We tried to work out what was happening in the picture and why.

Science

This week's Science lesson was a practical investigation. We heated some water in an aluminium can and wrapped a range of materials around the can. We measured the temperature of the water over time to work out which of the materials was the best thermal insulator.
