Week 5 Spring 1 5S

07 Feb 2025

Well done for another brilliant week, Year 5.

In Reading, we have continued reading Macbeth, finishing Act 4. We only have one more act to go! The children are still really enjoying the book, and this week we worked on our retreival, explanation and vocabualry skills. Next week, we will be reading Act 5 and then finishing the book!

We have been enjoying our History lessons also, learning all about The Plague! This week, we learnt about a group of people called The Flagellants. The children did research about this group, and also gave their opinions and what they did (punishments). We also learnt all about the Feudal System, which was the pyramid of hierarchy. The children did a brilliant job of definning each role and showing understanding of each section.

In Science, we concluded our unit on Properties of Materials. We rrecapped all of our previous knowledge, and went through key vocabulary, such as soluble, dissolving, change of state and many more terms. The class did a fantastic job of summarising all of the knowledge that they have learnt so far, and showed a good understanding of some tricky vocabulary.

Happy weekend.
