Week 6 Autumn 2 5S

12 Dec 2024

Well done for another great week, Year 5.

This week, we have been very busy preparing and practising for our annual Christmas Carol Concert. The children have done very well learning the lyrics for our class song, and I can't wait for the visiting families to be able to watch them perform. The two dates for our carol concerts are: Friday 13th December @ 2pm and Monday 16th December @ 9:30am.

We have also been continuing our Science topic looking at Space. Our latest lesson involved the children looking at the Earth's orbit around the sun in more detail, and considering what would happen if the earth stopped spinning/orbiting. The class had some brilliant predictions and suggestions, using some good scientific vocabulary to back up their answers.

In Maths, we completed our first Fractions unit! The children have worked extremely hard on fractions over the past 5 weeks, and their dedication has meant that they have made brilliant progress. After the Christmas Holidays, we will be moving onto our unit Multiplication and Division.

Well done Year 5 and happy weekend!
