Week 2 Autumn 2 5S

Well done for another brilliant week, Year 5.
In Science, we have begun looking at our new topic: Space! The children are very excited to learn all about space, and lots of have them already have some amazing knowledge about it! I have been very impressed. Our lesson focused on looking at the planets, specifically the size of each one and the distance they are from the moon. The class then created their own version of our solar system using tissue paper.
In R.E., we finished our topic on Wisdom, where we were comparing three different religions and how they all view wisdom. This lesson focused on Sikhism, and how Guru Granth Sahib talks about wisdom, and how we could incorporate these teachings and values into daily life.
In Music, we continued looking at Gospel music, comparing contemporary music with the music created by the pioneers of Gospel music. The children enjoyed watching some live performances, and then had a go at performing their own version of 'Why We Sing'. They did very well and I was proud of the effort they put into their singing.
