Year 5 - 21.10.22

Mr Whybrow and Miss Line - 21 Oct 2022

English

In English this week we have been improving our grammar skills, learning how to use apostrophes for contraction as well as to denote possession.

Maths

In maths this week we learned about common factors and prime numbers, as well as moving on to square and cubed numbers. Through learning these we also have been developing our times tables further, ensuring that we are able to recall our times tables to help us during our work.

British Museum Trip

This week we were all very excited to go on our first trip of the year. We travelled by train to the British Museum and whilst there we were able to see lots of incredibly interesting objects made by the ancient Egyptians (who we have been studying in history). It was very interesting to see objects from the history we had been studying in person, and we managed to find out so many more interesting things about ancient Egyptian history.
