Miss Burgess Update 13/05
13 May 2022
This week we have been continuing with our sea themed learning, taking our learning to focus around Pirates! The children have started to make some paper plate pirates to display in class and have been learning how to draw a pirate. These have made a wonderful display! 😊
In phonics, we started learning the sound ‘o’ – the children have enjoyed learning our rhyme for this sound and have found the letter formation easier than many other letters. We have played many phonics games this week, but the children particularly enjoyed our game called; ‘found you’ or ‘gotcha’. We have now learned 10 sounds in Nursery so I have been hiding the most recent sound card in the pack and as I flick through the children have to shout ‘found you’ or ‘gotcha’ when they see the new sound.
For our PE lesson this week, we have started working on our throwing and catching skills. The children enjoyed working in pairs to see who could get the most points by carefully throwing and catching the bean bags.
Finally, in maths, we have been counting everyday up to 20 and carefully counting out objects and matching them to the correct number with amounts up to 10.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Burgess 😊
