This week in Year 5
13 Dec 2018
Hello all! This week has been rather busy in Year 5, as the children have been to Church and prepare for their Christmas Carol Service.
In Maths we have been learning about fractions. Children have been using their understanding of equivalent fractions to help them add and subtract fractions with denominators that with the same multiple, as well as mixed numbers too.
In Literacy, the children have been writing news reports about Santa. They have been reporting on how he found himself stuck inside a chimney on Christmas day and how he managed to escape!
We have been geting rather arty this week in Year 5. The children have been learning how to sew and have created some impressive penguin hand puppets. They have also been learning how to block print, and used this technique to create patterns inspired by the phases of the moon.
