This week in Year 5
23 Nov 2018
This week, Year 5 met an author in Rainham library. We went to see Ade Adepitan talk about his new book. It was a very inspiring speech as he relayed his story growing up with a disability and as an immigrant in East London in the 80s. He explained the importance of never giving up and believing in your dreams. I hope the children who bought his book are enjoying it!
This week we have been learning about the first moon landing. The children were extremely interested in this period of history, and have begun collecting lots of facts. They have been using the 5ws to gather all of the information that they will need to write a news report about the event.
I have been extremely impressed with Year 5 in their Maths lessons this week. We have been learning geometry; more specifically looking at angles. The children worked extremely hard to measure and draw angles accurately. They listened very carefully to the steps they needed to follow to be successful. Well done, Year 5.
