Spring 2 Week 2- Animal Safari (2)

02 Mar 2023

This week we have continued our learning around Animal Safari. We looked at and discussed different animal patterns and then used a range of different objects to represent these with paint. We have been learning what habitats are and sorting animals into the correct habitats.

In maths we have been exploring 2D shapes, drawing around them, making pictures with them and recognising their names and some properties. We have also been forming our numerals and practicing counting accurately.

Children have progressed extremely well with their oral segmenting and blending in phonics- this has been evident in their phonics sessions and all of the grown ups are very impressed with them.

We enjoyed dressing up and celebrating World Book Day! We shared lots of texts together and spoke about why books and reading is important.
