Year 5 Spring Term - Week 12

31 Mar 2022

Two terms down, one to go...

Educational Visit
It was lovely to go on a local educational visit to our nearest allotment site. The two hours we spent there really helped the children understand the effort, pros and cons, timings and teamwork required to run a successful allotment. A big thank-you to all of the people on site, especially Jackie, who were so welcoming and patient with us.

I am currently exploring the feasibility of having a traditional educational visit in the Summer 2 term, and will work with the Friends of Brady to help us keep the costs of this trip down as much as possible for parents. A residential visit was explored earlier on in the year but other schools had had their Year Six bookings moved into this academic year because of the pandemic.

English Writing
This week we finished writing informative leaflets about farming in the UK and around the world.

Music
We had a fun time learning to play the glockenspiels along to the theme tune from 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air'. Trying to get 30 children to play in time is definitely a challenge!
