Year 5 Spring Term - Week 4

28 Jan 2022

Science
This week we studied the difference between atoms, molecules, elements and mixtures. We used play-dough and blu-tack to represent atoms and cocktail sticks to represent chemical bonds. We made models and then explained which model we had made using specific chemical vocabulary.

History
For history this week we studied the Feudal System, which was a social hierarchy system in Medieval England. We compared and contrasted this with the Egyptian social hierarchy we studied in the Autumn term.

English Reading
Having studied non-fiction texts for the previous two weeks, we changed course and looked in detail at a fiction whose setting was London during the plague. We looked at a range of VIPERS style questions and specifically focused on using evidence to back up the points we made in longer form questions.

PSHE
For PSHE we studied the benefits and risks to image sharing over the internet.
