English Writing:
We have completed the first drafts of our descriptive monologues. These are written in the present tense and from the first person perspective. Children used thesaruses to find appropriate synonyms to add to expanded noun phrases and prepositional phrases. Working from a success criteria, this piece of writing is being written independently and will be asssessed.
Shared Reading:
We have continued our discussion around non-fiction texts and have focused on explanation texts. We looked at two texts about the same topic and compared and contrasted them.
Science:
This week we looked at how molecules are bonded together and how chemical reactions break these bonds and reform atoms into new products. The children had to work out whether a process was reversible or irreversible and whether the atoms had been re-arranged.
