Year Five: Week 4
04 Oct 2019
This week Year Five have been 'Working Scientifically' to investigate which thermal insulator is the most effective at keeping a container's contents cold.
We had to think carefully about what our independent and dependent variables were and consider why having controls in place is essential to a good Science investigation.
In Maths we begun our new unit of work based around 'Addition and Subtraction' and in English we have been extending our knowledge of 'Direct Speech', 'Prepositional phrases' and 'Expanded Noun phrases' which we will use to great effect in our mystery narratives. On top of our Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling lessons, we have thought carefully about how authors forshadow events in mystery or thriller narratives to keep their audience engaged.
