1ST Summer 2 Week 6
Mrs Staples - 11 Jul 2025
Another sweltering week in Year 1, but as always, the children have been resilient!
In English, we planned and wrote our rhyming poems. We were really impressed with their rhyming word choices, and I hope you were too when they brought home their published pieces!
In maths, we have been exploring time, particularly o'clock and half past. The children found the concepts a little tricky, but they have been working really hard.
In DT, the children made one of four different salad choices. The classrooms smelled delicious, and I hope you all enjoyed your salads!
In history, the children studied Samuel Wilderspin from the Victorian era. We completed a comprehension as part of our class discussion, and then the children designed their own playgrounds, inspired by what Samuel Wilderspin would have wanted!
In computing, the children had the opportunity to log into TTRockstars to practice their 2x, 5x, or 10x tables. They will be bringing home their login details again. These work on both Numbots and TTRockstars, so please support your children in accessing these to keep up their maths practice over the summer. Thank you!
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
