1ST Autumn 1 week 4

Mrs Staples - 27 Sep 2024

It was another great week of fantastic learning in 1ST.

English

In English, we started to read the story ‘Man OnThe Moon’ We acted out parts of the story, sequenced the story and came up with lots of exciting adjectives to describe the characters in the story.

Maths

In Maths, the children have been using their number knowledge to compare different groups of objects. We have introduced the terminology greater, less and equal to alongside the following symbols < , > and =. The children did a great job of using the snapping crocodile motion to identify the biggest number!

Other

In Science, we identified different animals i.e. amphibians, reptiles, birds, fish and mammals.

In Geography, we have started to discuss positional language and drew our very own compass.

In music, we played some percussion instruments and practised using high and low pitch when singing. The children really impressed us with their beautiful voices!

Finally, the children who attended the disco had a wonderful time! They were well behaved, excited and showed some fantastic dance moves.
