1ST Spring 2 Week 2

Mrs Staples - 07 Mar 2025

It has been a beautiful, sunny week!

In English, we wrote a setting description for The Secret Garden using adjectives and exclamation sentences. We also planned an informal letter to share all about the garden with our loved ones.

In Maths, we finished the addition and subtraction unit and have now started counting within 50.

In Science, we conducted a fun experiment to demonstrate how removing chlorophyll reveals the bright, autumn-like colours of plants.

In RE, we wrapped up our end-of-unit assessment and will be starting a new topic in DT next week, focusing on building dens.

Thursday was World Book Day, and it was so much fun seeing the children dressed up as their favourite characters! It was also wonderful to have so many grown-ups join us for our reading café in class. Thank you for your support – the children had an amazing day!

Dates for the diary:
Thursday 13th March – 1S class assembly – 1.30pm
Thursday 13th March – Year 1 Shared Learning - 1.45-2.45
