1ST Autumn 1 week 6
Mrs Staples - 11 Oct 2024
It’s been a busy week in 1ST!
Our Superhero Friday was a fantastic today. The children completed lots of superhero themed activities, finishing off with superhero training camp. They walked the tightrope, jumped through rings of fire, dodged the lightning bolts, swam under the bridge and leapt from the skyscraper! I’m very pleased to say they all gained their superhero status!
English
In English, we learnt to describe a setting using interesting adjectives, focussing on shooting stars are meteors. We also started to read the Superworm story.
Maths
In Maths, we recapped part whole models, addition and writing number sentences. Thank you for last weeks homework, it really helped the children to secure their part whole model knowledge.
Other
In Science, we identified and named a variety of common animals that are omnivoreds, herbivores and carnivores.
In Geography, children were fascinated to see and discuss images of Earth from space. We also learnt geographical and physical features.
In music we planned our final performance of the menu song. If your child would like to bring in any cooking based props for our class performance on Tuesday, please send those in a name labelled bag - thank you.
