English:
In English, we have introduced our new focus story ‘The Secret Garden’. Children in year 1 are so creative and imaginative; they had so many brilliant ideas of what might be behind the secret garden door. They used their imagination to draw picture of the garden. Then they used their senses to write about what they might find in the garden e.g. What would they be able to see, hear, touch, smell and taste in their secret garden.
Maths:
In Maths, children learnt lots of different ways to subtract, by using number bonds, by counting back, by finding the difference. At the end of the week they practiced related facts and enjoyed the challenge.

In Science, children learnt about all four seasons and changes that takes place. In RE children recapped the knowledge of different places of worship, they were proud to discuss their personal experiences.
