Year 1 Spring 1 Week 3

20 Jan 2022

English
This week Year 1 enjoyed listening to our new focus story 'Lost in the Toy Museum.' The children explored the new and interesting vocabulary from the book. They also started to learn about past tense words and the suffix 'ed'.

Maths
In Maths, the children learned to find one more or one less up to 20 and they continued to focus on place value. The children compared groups of objects remembering to count carefully to ensure they could answer the questions correctly.

Topic
In History, the children learned about the six stages of life (baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult and elderly). They enjoyed discussing their memories of family members or themselves at different stages and considering what stages their family members fit into. In Science, Year 1 learned about the parts of the human body.
