-End of Autumn 1.pdf-
English
This week Year 1 have been learning about question marks. They thought carefully about turning statements in to questions and ensuring they had punctuated it correctly with a question mark. They have also been sequencing and retelling the story of Superworm, trying hard to include conjunctions, capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.
Maths
In Maths the children have been learning about addition. They have been using part-whole models to help them to create fact family number sentences. Something the children have found tricky is missing part-whole problems. See an example below that you could practise at home.
Pyjama Day
It was lovely to see all the children coming to school wearing pyjamas to support FOB. We really appreciate all the contribution parents made.
Other
In Science, Year 1 have been completing an investigation for past two weeks. As we have been focusing on the changes in each season, we set up a fair test to measure the rainfall each week. This week the children recorded their data on a bar chart.
The October half term is from Monday 23rd - Friday 27th October. Children will return to school on Monday 30th October
Have a lovely half term!
